Institute of Natural Sciences
This institute was founded in 2006 as an offshoot of UIU. INS consists of three disciplines of physical sciences: Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. These physical sciences deal with the truths of nature and the laws that govern the world. In INS, there are 13 high-profile active faculties of whom one is a PhD holder. In addition, 9 faculty members of INS are on study leave in different well-recognized foreign universities. Besides, in each trimester, a number of well competent faculties from different public universities join the institute as adjunct faculties. INS has a history of providing quality education to the students. The teaching methods applied in INS show results of effectiveness and are supposed to undergo further improvement.
INS plays an important and indispensable role in the study of engineering and business. The aim of INS is to adhere to the academic thrust of quality as well as to contribute in advancement of society and industry. In consequence this institute helps engineers to extend their strong research background. INS is committed to nurture and sharpen the intellectual growth and skills of the students through the application and dissemination of engineering.

Institute of Development Studies and Sustainability (IDSS) at United International University (UIU), founded on 26 October, 2017, is committed to interdisciplinary hub for research, teaching, and collaborations for narrowing down the science-policy-practice gap towards sustainable development.
The IDSS promises to advance knowledge of Sustainable Development through its Interdisciplinary Research and knowledge dissemination through seminars, publications and teaching. The IDSS is committed to manage and expanding the interdisciplinary major in Development Studies and Sustainability by providing students with fellowships, scholarships, and research/study opportunities through collaborations with universities in Bangladesh and foreign countries, national and International NGOs, UN organizations and business organizations. Finally, the institute promises to contribute to UIU’s vision of becoming the center of excellence in teaching, learning and research in the South Asian region.

Center for Smart Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability (CSIRS)
In February of 2024, Center for Smart Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability (CSIRS-UIU) started its journey as a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and education in the field of smart infrastructure.
Bangladesh’s thriving urbanization and rural transformation processes are being challenged by extreme high vulnerability to climate change impacts. Increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, rising sea level, temperature extremes, altered precipitation patterns are posing significant threat to the resilience and sustainability of infrastructure, leading to damage of infrastructure, disruption of services and slowing down economic growth.
The present infrastructure development scenario highlights the need for innovative solutions that must prioritize both resilience and sustainability. At CSIRS, we are dedicated to pioneering research and technology-driven solutions aimed at fortifying our infrastructure systems. Our interdisciplinary approach will bring together experts from diverse fields to solve complex civil engineering challenges. From researching advanced materials and smart technologies to community engagement, CSIRS will work towards shaping a more resilient and sustainable future.
