UIU Social Services Club (UIU SSSC), a wing of the Directorate of Career Counseling and Student Affairs (DCCSA) of United International University (UIU), recently collected an emergency fund to extend a hand of supports to the distressed families in Remal cyclone affected areas at Koyra in Khulna. In this area, hundreds of people have been severely affected by the recent devastating cyclone and became homeless and lost farms.

The young members of UIU Social Services Club raised a fund for the cyclone-affected people. They collected donations from the faculties, officers and students of UIU and properly distributed the collected amount among 50 cyclone affected families for the assistance of their rehabilitation. This finance may help them to suppress their hardship and recover from their situation, even for a little bit. Renata PLC was the Health Care Partner and Bonik Barta and the Daily Campus were the media partners.

A team consisting of seven members of the Social Services Club marched on Thursday, 13 June 2024 to the remote insuperable area at Koyra and collected data. They sorted out and selected the exact people who were actually affected and severely jeopardized.

Mr. Mifthahur Rahman Himel, President of UIU Social Services Club, said that "We are always prepared to support the people during such calamities. we must stand by them with whatever resources we have."
